Surya’s 5th film was Poovellam Kettuppar and the movie was released on Aug, 1999. Poovellam Kettuppar was directed and written by Vasanth and it stars Surya and Jyothika in lead roles. Vijayakumar, Nassar, Vadivelu, Ambika, Manorama also played pivotal roles in the film.
